Featuring a combination of penetrating oils and resins that provide maximum water resistance with a beautiful, natural matt finish. With added UV and mould resistance, this product offers protection for both dressed and rough-sawn timber used for exterior cladding and weatherboards, fences and gates, windows and doors and interior timber panelling.

PREPARATION
Allow new timber to weather in its final position for 4-6 weeks.

Prepare and clean your timber for coating with Feast Watson Woodclean as per the instructions. - For best results, lightly sand the surface to remove any grain raise.

Remember to remove all sanding dust before coating!

Weathered Timber - Using Feast Watson Woodclean, prepare and clean your weathered or grey timber. - Sanding may be required to remove stains and restore deteriorated surfaces. Remove all sanding dust before coating.

Previously Coated Timber - If your timber is coated with stain or oil, it can be coated with Wood Shield after the surface has weathered. Test if the surface is ready by sprinkling water onto the timber - If the water absorbs into the timber, you're good to go - If the water beads, further weathering, sanding or stripping is needed.

- Painted or varnished surfaces need to be taken back to bare timber by stripping or sanding. Prepare timber for coating with Feast Watson Woodclean as per the instructions.

APPLICATION
Ensure your timber is completely dry before applying. Feast Watson Wood Shield should be stirred thoroughly before and during application with a flat blade stirrer taking care not to introduce bubbles. - If you are coating a large space and require more than one can of Wood Shield, mix all together in one large container before you begin.

Apply your first coat of Feast Watson Wood Shield using a brush, roller or spray. Are you using a roller or spray? Just remember to back brush the coating to ensure even penetration. - Work along 3-4 planks at a time, in the direction of the grain. Ensure edges and end grain are fully coated. Before applying additional coats, allow the first coat to soak into the timber. Your first coat does not need to fully dry before applying subsequent coats. Apply additional coats until your timber is fully saturated and unable to absorb more coating. A minimum of two coats is required.

Note: Wood Shield does NOT require thinning.

    If you give us the Dulux colour name we can tint your paint ahead of time. Alternatively you can come in and watch us tint on the spot. The result will be close to the requested shade, but we do not promise an exact match.

    If you want to paint a room with high humidity, we recommend adding "Anti-mould additive" to your shopping cart. Ensure you purchase the right amount of additive for the paint you've bought.
