Exterior Paint

Not sure which sheen level is right for your project?

LOW SHEEN: The most popular paint choice for exterior walls (brick, concrete, weatherboard, fibre-cement sheeting, Colorbond), metal roofs, and fences (treated pine, hardwood, brick, concrete).

MATT: Popular for rough brickwork because it hides surface imperfections, but note that matt paint is more likely to get dirty and will be harder to clean.

SEMI-GLOSS & GLOSS: A common choice for doors, window frames, gutters, and fascia because the contrast in sheen level creates a great effect. Semi-gloss and gloss paints are also easier to clean than low sheen or matt paints.

ENAMEL PAINT: A hard-wearing, chip-resistant paint, and easier to clean than other types of paint, making it especially suitable for high touch surfaces like doors. However it usually requires one extra coat and is trickier to apply, so usually not the best choice unless the surface will need frequent cleaning.
