Split off a smaller amount from a large tin or bub
We want to sell you the right amount of paint to reduce waste, but there is a time cost for us in tipping off some paint, and this charge goes part-way towards covering our time.
We need to:
- source and clean an extra container,
- mix the paint well prior to tipping,
- wash the paint spout and paint mixer,
- re-catalogue the tin or tub that the paint was tipped from, and
- create a new stock item of the smaller amount for you to purchase
Please note that if you want the majority of a tin or tub, we will generally not tip off the part that you do not need. That is because we won't have a matching container to put the unwanted paint into that will enable us to sell the smaller portion, so the portion tipped-off will generally end up going to landfill with our other waste.
If you are concerned about waste, please talk to us about donating back your leftover paint. If you haven't dipped your brush into the paint we'll be happy to accept your leftovers.
